"There is a certain point where photographs, or rather the composition of them, make visual sense.  Photographs are about a moment, about something that is taking place in that space and time that we can all relate.  The most successful photographs have an emotional component that makes people respond.  When I am shooting, I look for something interesting, something human in a connection to a city or a landscape - a cultural connection.  This is why most of my work is about the diversity of people and their lives.  One of my goals in life as a photographer continues to be visually educating people about how others live.  I do this to keep us mindful that we are not all that different.  We have more in common than not."
